The scene is set and the area of Chia-Pula is ready to welcome the athletes for the 19th European Cup 10,000m.

Europe’s best middle and long distance runners are eagerly looking forward to the event, as it will provide them with a much-valued opportunity to compete together at a high level of competition.

We are grateful to the Italian athletics federation (FIDAL), the authorities of neighbouring towns of Chia and Pula and the Laguna Running club who are working hard to provide the best possible conditions for the athletes. We know they are putting their hearts into making the event a fitting tribute to their efforts.

We wish the best of luck to all the competitors and to everyone involved in what promises to be a great event. I hope you all have an enjoyable and profitable stay in the south of Sardinia.
